Anybody who does not know of the age-old and continuing war of the religious cadres out of Rome against secular life on this planet, cannot be taken seriously. All one has to do is read -- or listen -- to any Pope's encuclicals... That these priests , who have lately become known internationally for their buggery/charity, does not take one iota from their agenda... To think otherwise is foolish!

The 'news' from Spain wasn't that new. Mexico a decade earlier gave birth to the real Spanish Civil War. When the Mexicans, who tried to establish land reform, felt it necessary to bring in the 1917 Constitution to clip the awful power of the Catholic Church, the RCC responded with open warfare -- the Christeros War! In Spain as in Mexico the RCC was prepared to figtht the legitimate secular government....

the war happened because the old regime died and it set free the hatred between social extremes that had been going on for centuries. Here is a little example of the same crisis: a father, mother or both die, what is most likely to happen? Brothers will fight each other. It literally happened in royal families. Spain´s case is similar to Russia´s or Germany´s. See this not from a cultural, ideological or ethnical point of view, but from the basic human behaviour point of view

Not enough people get a view of an entire sweep of history. Since the time of Constantine the relation of Church-and-State is synonymous with Civil War. First Rome, the Pagan countries, then the endless hatreds divide, Jews, Pagans, nation states like France, Ireland, WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, East Timore .. Where does the RCC live without war???
