Hack created by: GeminiRage
GeminiRage's original hack description:
This is a resubmission of my hack after it was rejected for having some title screen issues. There should now be a different title level that won't kill Mario and you should be able to actually play the hack now.
Anyways...
This is my first attempt at a Super Mario World hack. With the exception of a couple tiles, the use of custom palettes and music, it's pretty much a Vanilla hack.
The story here is generic Mario; Mario visits Sugar Land to take a break from his adventures, but no sooner does he arrive that he finds out the Koopalings have followed him, and they're up to no good once again. It's up to Mario to put a stop to their shenanigans (again).
The first three worlds of the hack are playable, and I plan to add five more for the complete version of the hack.
As a whole, the hack's difficulty is about on par original Super Mario World, with some tricky spots here and there, so new/less skilled players should be comfortable playing this hack.

Every now and then I will pick through smwcentral's "Hacks Waiting to be Moderated" section of the site, pull a hack (as long as it's not too long) out at semi-random, and play it for you guys blindly. Until I play, I will have no idea if the hack is good or bad. That's something we find out "together." Save states will be used; mainly because I feel that save stating will be more appealing to the eye than restarting the entire level 5-10 times. Each hack will generally be a single segment run of exploration, and will typically end when I either wish to take a break, when I beat it, or when an error in the hack prevents me from continuing. I will not accept hacks made by you. The only place I will get them from is smwcentral's "Hacks Waiting to be Moderated" section. If you want to see your hack up here, your best bet is to stick it there and hope it's the one I grab next! I will not pick a hack that looks like it could be Kaizoish, or one that's insanely long. A good rough estimation for hack length would be 15-20 exits at most. I hope you enjoy! In each description there will be my personal thoughts on said hack. In the review, I will try to be very fair, as well as provide constructive criticism if I think the hack I am playing isn't very appealing to me.

I loved playing this hack. Right from the very beginning you can tell a lot of effort went into making Sugar Land Adventure. Upon reaching the fourth world it was a real downer to see that the demo was over. There does seem to be at least one ghost house exit I skipped, but let's be fair here. Even if the over world indicates there could be a pathway off the ghost house, there's still no guarantee, so to save time for everybody (mostly myself) I simply choose to ignore a ghost house's secrets unless it's painfully obvious or hinted in a message box somewhere. The level design was very fun and didn't seem to get repetitive at all. The challenges were built around being fair and challenging at the same time. The color palettes in some levels were very fun to see. One I enjoyed was the watermelon cave level. This hack should be taken as another great example for how to build your own, and that you don't need all the special extras to make it fun to play.
Overall score: 9/10
Notes: This is my first larger video test with Camtasia. With Camstudio I could only record about 45-55 minutes before the video file became too large and would corrupt. With this it seems I can record much more than that. I can also now pause a video to take a short break and come back to it without the sound going off track, so expect more hacks played in single sessions from now on. Unless it's something crazy like 3 or 4 hours, then I'll have to draw the line somewhere. (Or will I? Probably not)
How the hell are you doing this are you a partner ? ( of YT ? )
