@Bosco827 no way man there are pro 3d programs like 3ds max, maya, mudbox and stuff like that and they are free! but there is one catch no making any profit what so ever not even indirectly just go to student autodesk.com and get what you want there are videos here on you tube if you need instruction and you know its real because its from the makers of the program and its obviously legal so ya, no profit though! lol if you have any questions just ask me
@ThisPersonSaid There are a number of reasons, but consider believability. If you examine the most successful live action-based FX shots out there, you'll find they're augmented reality rather than fully virtual. I've always thought facial motion capture was a good example; a hand animated CG face, no matter how good the animator, will still not look quite right, if even on a subliminal level. A CG face driven by motion capture, on the other hand, has believability. My 2 cents.
@MegaCharlieUnicorn there is a company that has open sourced their software and are offering it as a beta right now, lightworks, their software has been used in a lot of movies, they plan on offering it for windows, mac, and linux, i personally love the node editor in blender and so i use blender, Ton has been thinking of a live action short as the next project but may not happen for some time, as it stands, blender's compositor is very very powerful
It is so cool to really see how much even the color effects the final shot . Makes me feel better about my raw footage. Such a great movie and series!
