This self relaxing video utilizes the "vertical application" method providing you more coverage in less time when I texlax. I also implemented the practice of adding "silk amino acids - SAA" to my relaxer which also provides a barrier from the harsh effects of the sodium hydroxide (lye) and imparts silk protein in my cuticles. This also buys me more time when applying the relaxer and reduces burning and scalp irritation.

  • Hello,

Just a small question... why do you need to relax your hair? What does it do? Sorry, this is coming from someone who has never heard about 'hair relaxing' anywhere. :)

    Thankyou

  • @Flurolamp I used to relax my hair, which softened my curl pattern (so I thought). I have since stopped using chemicals in my hair and is natural for the past year and a half.

  • just as i was about to comment on you handling the relaxer with bare hands the disclaimer box popped up. i imagine it's a lot easier to apply it this way but i'd be too scared about prolonged damaged to my fingertips. funny that i apply it to my scalp tho lol

  • You have such a soothing voice

  • tell me a bedtime story

  • I thought u meant u were preg when you said 12 13 weeks post

  • @babylauren1515 If your hair is fine, I wouldn't relax. There are a lot of YouTubers out here who will show you how to manage your type of hair.

  • @81Juliean Hi, I wouldn't put any other chemicals in my hair if you are freshly relaxed and experiencing a lot of split ends. I would definitely seek a professional hair stylist to determine the root of the problem and possibly snip some of those dead ends away.
