@zelgreywards Well, I mean Oath in Felghana is infinitely better than Ys 3 for SFC. However, it WAS done by Falcom and ported here by XSEED, so of course it will be fantastic. I don't know, this looks ok, and I would certainly rather have this than some of the terrible other games that come out (but hey, I love a good shooter just as much as anyone)
Somebody please tell me why we Americans always get neglected of cool rpgs like this one? WWWWWWWHHHHYYYY?! Like I mentioned before, if we could have one game like this for every 15 attempts at a first person shooter or God of War spin off, then everything would be in perfect balance! Is it just me or are most American gamers and companies are just ignorant and simple minded?
@ShakinJamacian Well, the attack button in the DS versions of Ys 1 and 2 was considered broken (because the monster and boss behavior wasn't at all tweaked for that addition). An attack button does not automatically make things better.
Apparently the gameplay in this version is just clunky as heck and generally regarded as boring when compared to even the SNES version of Ys IV.
As it goes, generally any port NOT done by Falcom sucks (though the Hudson games for the Turbo Duo were good).
@MoriyaMug which version does this remake follow? I played the SNES translation back in the day, then tried the TG16 more recently and was surprised how different they were.
Hard to believe that the music is worse now with a powerful system than it use to be on the PCE

So like..why are the PS2 remakes of Ys III, IV, and V regarded as bad? IV adds the addition of actually having an attack button..
Or is it broken here?

The 3 Ys4(SNES,Turbo16CD,PS2) are nice but PS2 version is only true Sequel of Ys book 1&2 story.

@SwerdMurd Just remember that SNES version and PS2 version (Mask of the Sun) are canon, and Dawn of Ys (TG16) is not.

@SwerdMurd: It's closer to the SNES version.
