im curious i just got back into one piece and noticed this movie, outside movie 9 which was a what if movie, is this movie canon at all? I mean lion comes in so i was like wait he isn't even in the shows yet or did i miss something?

The character himself is canon. He is DEFINITELY in the comic. However, whether the events of this film actually happened in the manga series or not has NOT been addressed by the man himself yet.

@0chimusha no...never happened. its just a canon of shiki...although int he anime they do state that shiki is the only man other then luffy to break out of impel down. I dont remember if sengoku says that in the manga but they do mention him in the anime right before this comes out which is probably just to get people interested in this. but shiki was real he did fight roger but he hasnt really made an appearance and this never happened.

The verdict is still out on the film until Oda addresses it directly, if he ever does. As it stands the film itself is 'impossible' due to a number of small details, comments and situations that occur. HOWEVER, if Oda wants it to be canon, it may easily be such as simply as he can snap his fingers.

However, the events of Chapter 0 are canon and Shiki does exist in the comic.

I find it cool how 95% of the people going to the theater are older than young teens. One Piece is popular among all ages after all.

For One Piece I would stand in line forever...so long as I get to see the movie :P I've seen this movie like 20,000,000,000,000,000,000 times, downloaded into my computer and I STILL want to see it in theatres just to get the awesome experience instead of a laptop screen. :/ they should make it come out in the us. Subbed not Dubbed. :D
