Actress Portia de Rossi admits she struggled with going public about her sexuality. The 37-year-old, who is now happily married to wife Ellen DeGeneres, says if everyone would be honest about who they are it wouldn't be a big deal. (Nov. 5)

I like this...thanks for posting. Being gay was never hard for me. It was people's reaction to my sexuality that was difficult. You do lose people - friends sometimes even family distance themselves or judge you. This is the part that is so heartbreaking for young gay people when they come out. That feeling of rejection and isolation can crush them. I remember. So she is correct in saying that rolemodels are needed. The good news is that it does get better.
