  • I was in the RAF Regiment back in the 1980s and i remember seeing the Lightning from time to time. Oh how we brits did it our way at one time.

Wish we had the balls to do it that way again.

Looking at the RAF insignia on the side fills me with pride. Hope its never a red crescent i ever see

  • Recommend Bruntingthorpe - fabulous day out.

  • I have that movie, it´s very interesting! 8)

  • @MrGarrington120 LOL, yeah sure.. Just because I dislike this plane which, let's face it, DOES look like an obese, pregnant mig-21, must mean that: 1) I'm an American 2) I don't like the Concorde and 3) I'm a fucking moron. And you base this on.. Absolutely nothing. Which, ironically, makes YOU the fucking moron! Good job man, 0/3 correct answers! Just outstanding*slow-clap*

  • @evildeathmonkey1 I bet you are an American ? didnt like Concorde either I bet you fuckin moron

  • Should have developed the Fairey Delta II into a service aircraft instead. It would probably have attracted more export customers and the British aircraft industry may have survived.

  • Quite interesting this jet. First to supercrusen and can outfly any modern mutlirole fighter, except maybe the F22.

  • @SvenTviking The French are very good a joining development programs then leaving when they've stolen enough ideas and concepts to implement on their own. They did it with the Eurofighter and a naval destroyer aswel.

  • I as a boy in the 1960's was so proud that our air force had these planes, I remember one crashing near Halesworth in Suffolk once, I cant remember what year? but the pilot bailed out and come down I think on the roof complex of what was at the time Howard rotovators and the plane come down in a field next to the old water mill at Wenhaston. Does any one remember what that year was or know any thing about the event?

  • the finest jet ever built. period.

  • @donga1998 we'll never have anything as great as the lightning again mate.

  • I loved this aircraft, the 1st i ever worked on. such a pity the caa wont grant it a licence to fly in the UK where it belongs !
