Here's a demo of the 2009 Parker Fly Single Cut. It has SD Jazz and JB Fly pickups, but it also has a Tone-Pros bridge with Graph-Tech Ghost piezo saddles. The lower bout has been carved out to be more like a Fly, and the back has also undergone more sculpting.

It's a great player! I, however, am not, so please forgive the botched notes (I was a bit nervous). I do have a greater range than what you'll hear here, but I wanted to play the same few riffs (and variations on them) repeatedly so that you'll be able to appreciate the wide range of tones that are avaliable on this amazing instrument.

Oh, and by the way, the only place you'll see this before the 2009 Winter NAMM Show is right here! Thanks to Jeff Dale, Terry Atkins, and everyone at Parker and USM for making this possible. You guys ROCK!

  • Curious, what was the guitar plugged into, particularly for the piezo pickup? I've heard stock electric amps aren't as good for piezos.

  • Mags - Randall MTS amp (running Blackface and Plexi modules).

Piezo - that small acoustic combo behind my left knee.

  • Cool vid, Casey! I have a 2007 Single Cutaway and am surprised how little weight was shaved on this newer version due to the body and neck sculpting. My older SC probably weighs 7 pounds, and this is 6.8??? Hmmm. Piezos can't weigh that much.... The headstock must have some lead in it.

  • Hey Strand, when I talked about how light it was, it was in comparison to the kind of weight you would expect in a guitar of a similar shape. Even with the more sculpting of the lower horn, the upper bout still has more mass than a Fly's upper horn.

  • thanks sharing these videos and for posting.

  • yeah. this is the one with stainless steel frets which will never wear out. yours is most likely the basic model. Very different. VERY different from this one.

  • Ah sorry forgot that this is the 09 model mine is a year or two older.

  • I have it for just under $500 :)

  • so roughly 3000 bucks? I'm willing to pay that for the features this thing has. so far the greatest guitar I have ever seen

  • Nice, I own a Parker Fly S2 right now, one of these new SC would be a great mate for her.
