What recorder did you use? I have CamStudio, but it doesn't quite cut it.

FRAPS .. though for some reason it impairs performance while not recording, but works fine while recording ..

You need to actually buy the product to get clips longer than thirty seconds though -- am I right?

Actually, I don't know.

Having been told that nothing else works as well (my crappy puzzle pirates video was shot with camstudio), I went over and tried it on my mother's PC.

She'd bought it to do her master's with, and I was happy with the results, so I just got my own.

Never seen the shareware version.
