Elbow Dragging

The video is an edit of many many passes... its not the same attempt shown over and over again (duh). I'm going to explain a little how it is done.

Knee dragging came first, and I wore out so many sliders at this parking lot (and the track) getting comfortable with it I cant even tell you. Dozens. When you knee drag you can choose a very slight pressure, like barely skimming the ground, or something harder. Sometimes I would put a lot of weight on the slider and get a good feeling what that was like. In this Elbow Dragging video thats pretty much what I am doing. I think if I lifted my knee suddenly while leaned over the furthest, the bike would fall right over.

You cant see because of shadows but I am wearing a knee slider over my jeans. So if there is a so-called secret to elbow dragging I think its letting your knee help support the bike. The tires were at the ragged edge of what they could do, and the speed it takes to lean that far is kind of scary. Its not a casual thing to try!

Advice would be: get super comfortable with your bike and all its controls. If you like cornering dont be afraid to practice by yourself in a parking lot. FOR YOURSELF, not for YouTube. The internet can be a shallow and stupid place. You and your motorcycle are worth 10 internets.
