@coldstone525 I've used the flip in tournaments and it's was fine withv

@Roxashater3 I actually just had this idea myself, and they came out pretty nice with the use of PVC tee fittings and whatnot. I haven't actually gotten to try them yet though, since it's still too cold and boffs will break easily in low temperatures. It makes the pipes brittle.

Thats awesome, i joined a boffering club and to like move up you have to make a weapon, so im thinking of making a pair of these with PVC pipeing, thanks for a demo :D

I wish those were legal here so I could go out night and chase gangrapists..

@coldstone525 I've practiced several styles of (old tradiional) kobudo from different masters and most of the old katas have 1 flip in them. However, in my opinion they are only for times in combat where one drops a tonfa and picks it up wrongly. Only strange thing I've noticed is that when in this video the tonfas are flipped he often graps them half way, which seems strange to me. You lose a lot of range. I've only seen Kama katas that have this hami-grip
I like your movements. Good symmetry with your arms. Freestyle is good too. Thumbs up.

isn't it taught that you're not supposed to flip? i learned that from a master but i guess there are different techniques.

@coldstone525 Unless one is in danger of dropping the weapon, I see no reason to avoid flipping it. It may be that this master's style never adopted flipping as a practice. It's also possible that the master never mastered that particular technique. It may not be traditional, but that doesn't mean it's incorrect. Just, as you point out, different.
Thanks for the comment.

My Tonfa keeps chafing my hands. Do I gotta get used to that or change my tonfa? I don't want to get an infection.

@ImmortalinHim77 I have never had that problem. My hands are very calloused, though.
I would take time off between practicing tonfa to build up calluses. The skin on your hand will get thicker, but it may take some time. Practice for a short while one day, then take a day off. Practice a little longer each day, but only practice every other day.
I hope that helps. Good luck.
