Famous Studios Popeye the Sailor cartoon. In this one, Popeye and Count Noah Count (Bluto must've been on vacation for this cartoon) compete against each other in a road race across the USA, from the east coast to the west coast.

  • Does anyone know if there could possibly be an edit in this cartoon? I would think that after the referee shot himself, what would follow would be the typical gag where he would poke his head out from under his shirt to reveal that he just barely missed being shot by the gun. Instead, what we see actually suggests that he did shoot his head off.

  • LOL at Popeye's pipe noise jumping in the opening titles so he goes toot-toooot instead of toooot-toooot!

  • @ceredigio Other than the fact that I am able to spot whether the intro/close on a Popeye short is original or sourced from elsewhere, it is without a doubt that anyone can spot that this one does not have its original logos. The intro music is truncated, and they kept the AAP end logo intact.

  • 0:55, Mr. Papaya

  • The guy got a faster car, but he needs to cheat? WTF!

  • @s275ironman This is correct that it is paramount-opning and aap-close (weird, ain't it?).so this was an aap original if ending titles are intact as you said.

  • ah a PRE Bugatti Veyron lol

  • thanks for posting..such great shows no other t.v shows will be able to replace..

  • There's A Re-Dubbed Version Of This Cartoon!

    Brian Doyle-Murray-Popeye

    Rob Paulsen-Count Noah Count

    Frank Welker-Mt. Rushmore, Car

    Bill Farmer-Starter, Police Man

    Jeff Bennett-Bull Head

    Tara Strong-Indian Girl

    Gary Owens-TV Announcer

  • You'll be sorrry!

  • @s275ironman First time I've seen a Popeye that has the Paramount logo at the beginning and the AAP logo at the end! Most unusual! If it had the AAP logo at the beginning, the theme music would have been a different arrangement and would have jumped when it cut from the AAP titles to the original cartoon.
