The fake billboard behind Brenda, as well as the silly costume of the guitar player, take the raunchy edge off this song and make it less inappropriate for a little girl to be singing. If you've ever heard the original Big Mama Thornton version of "Hound Dog", you'd know what it's really all about! And you'd get a sense of how lots of people were offended when Elvis's version was a hit, too. After all, him calling a woman a "dog" implied she was a "bitch"...
