  • when u train in any art casually, maybe a few times a week for only a few short years, of course someone that trains 6 or 7 times a week in that same time frame can totally destroy in a fight. if someone put the same kind of mind set and dedication into their traditional art that the typical mma person in a random gym does, training constantly and hard, they would be very good too. its the person, not the art

  • bruce lee wasnt a 'big shot' in WC, he was at best just competent. he didnt master the system, he just trained in it for a short time. then he moved on because he felt for him, he wanted more. im a fan of martial arts, but i am not a fan of this one is better, or try this in the cage and see how ineffective it is. these scenarios are not one sided, a good WC practitioner can beat an mma guy, and vice versa.

  • @Ravelife13 try to go to a lesson and try all the move u know or saw on utube or tv or even the one u train, and see the reaction from a wc practitioner then compare it to real life, u can aloso search for celebs bodyguards u'll find they practive wc -effective fast and direct can be done in all places.

u have to know that i am underestimating mma as a sport coz its all about the person not the art

  • @Ravelife13 man u hv to understand that mma is sport wc is an art ,a 400years old, and that one who decided to learn other arts , the one u r talking about is actually bruce lee coz he didnt complete the art, studied other arts! what u see here is drills and demos in real life, where there are no gloves and referees wc is one of the best not coz i like it coz its the truth, its the only art as far as i know that covers all the ranges within the same art not hybrid like krav maga for example

  • I want to add that I am a big fan of WC, but the facts are the kicks suck and physics can show you there is nothing behind them. The 'grappling' in it requires you to be lightning fast and pull video game maneuvers off which do not happen in fights whether they are contests or real fights. Absorb what is useful, don't be blind to the weakness in certain arts, it is not like you are cheating on a lover to admit it needs supplementation to be complete.

  • @rockythepain Which of course explains the number of pro fighters who use it at all.

Sorry dude, the truth is out there now and the mystique is gone for the most part. I also didnt say Bruce pioneered Wing Chun, I said he was a catalyst of MMA. Someone as accomplished in many arts including studying with Yip decided that WC was incomplete and took up boxing, wrestling, judo, escrima, and more to get a full skill set. You guys have talent but need to wake up to reality.

  • @Ravelife13 i have to say that you know a little about the history and the art of wing chun.

wC wasnt pioneered by Bruce lee coz he didnt fully trained coz his master died before completing the art, so he was very talented and made jeet kune do based the prinicple of WC.

to deffende yourself you dont neet to be MMA fighter, and wing tsun covers all the ranges even ground fights and body control that why its used now in special units around the world coz its affective, fast and direct

  • @Ravelife13 actually you have that incorrect, the day of developing skill is over, the day for being average in allot of different martial arts, is the sell

  • @rockythepain Wing Chun has many benefits, but telling people the center line will block is misleading. The days of a single style being effective are over. This is the era of MMA, an era that I will add was encouraged and pioneered by Bruce Lee, some of you may have heard of him...a big shot in Wing Chun.

The answer in martial arts is the plural. Pure traditional arts are incomplete. Absorb what is useful here, but make sure you train jits/wrestling/muay thai!

  • sifu fong technique is very good, my sifu, grandmaster felix leong's sticky hands can be almost a blur, even when your are fully ready and expecting it. Great demonstration
