Dr. Diana reviews "Stringin It", a cool high-tech electronic gadget/toy that creates endless 3-D light illusions. Great for the Holiday 2007 gift giving season.

  • That is neat, I'm on my way to spencers but I think I'll keep it for myself.

  • Memphisdrean, it will be $20.00 well spent. Thanks for viewing. Dr. Diana

  • (Part 3) Okay, got it figured out. There's an undocumented sequence-speed feature. Press Pulse for 2 seconds engages it. Wait for the sequencing speed you want (8 levels) and then press any button again to lock it in. That's where all the other nice patterns are coming from. Wasn't all that complicated after all. :) Pattern Select short press: GBR, CYM, GCBMRY blend, or All on. Pulse Control short-press, lit for 1/4th, 1/2, 3/4ths or full strobe cycle. Long-press for sequencing speed select.

  • (part 2) Some combos require a hold for 2 seconds, then multiple taps of the other, or the same one. Some change as you hold longer. Etc. Watch the demo mode to see some of the unique and more beautiful light patterns that can be reached manually this way. This is how I knew they were in there. It just takes a few creative keypresses to select and control them. After you have unlocked a new mode, then each key chooses new effects for that option. How come there's no info on the net about this?

  • Just got a Stringin' It on closeout deal. I wanted to see what was different between the "String Ray" precursor. Well, both are cool, hard to decide which I like better. I found some undocumented light-patterns. One reproducible example: Turn on in manual. Hold Pulse for 2 seconds. Tap Pattern. Release Pulse. It goes into a self-accelerating RBG strobe mode. There's 100's of other key-combos to explore, in demo mode too. Wish there was documentation to reproduce them all. I get lost in sub-menus

  • Just got this yesterday and put it on the coffee table and turned out the lights. then i put on some raging John Digweed techno and MAN o MAN! Ridiculously awesome!!!! The motion and patterns and colors rock. It's like having a shape-shifting 3D hologram in the middle of the room. buy one!

  • Haha i have this toy its a perfect raver toy

  • your cute...

i'v seen it a bunch a times at raves, so if you have a teenage daughter/son/nephew/niece that likes BRIGHT colors, blinking flashy lights, and techno music ... buy them one.

    peace and PLUR
