Design your own interdisciplinary graduate degree program to fit your career objectives.

SIT Graduate Institute student Maria Alejandra Garcia
describes her practicum experience with the
Peace Corps and the Master's International program.
SIT's flexible, self-designed master's degree program allows students to gain exposure to several different degree fields or receive targeted professional training.

In close consultation with faculty advisors, students design their curriculum by drawing on the array of resources and course options offered each term by SIT Graduate Institute, including courses offered through the following degree programs:

Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation
International Education
Sustainable Development
The self-designed program incorporates multidisciplinary coursework and experience in the field. Graduates are prepared for positions in a host of professional venues, including international organizations and NGOs, educational institutions, the media, the private sector, and government.

SIT Graduate Institute has been a beacon for social change for more than 70 years. SIT, formerly known as the School for International Training, features the following Masters degrees in the following social change and social entrepreneurship areas:

Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation
International Education
TESOL
Sustainable Development, Vermont
Service, Leadership, and Management
International Policy and Management, Washington, DC

SIT is a program of World Learning, which unlocks the potential of people to address critical global issues through international education, exchange, and development programs.

To those considering attending the SIT Graduate Institute, I would highly recommend taking time to assess everything the institution stands for and the recent decisions made by the board of directors in the past couple of years. Much of the decisions made by the administration have sparked intense debate and controversy among the student body. The policy and institutional changes also have a history of being made after students have already made financial commitments to attend the institute.
