Thanx for the help on these units ...i see you got the bird in the house ...can i just hook up the power cord to 12 volts (BATTERY) and play around on unit to learn it without anything hooked to it ..gps..transducer..ect...it wont hurt anything will it THANX

Thanks a lot Doug. I've had heck trying to figure this out. Humminbird's instructions for performing this are a little vague. You do a great job on BBC as well.
