  • Seriously? I don't think I heard a single standout moment that gives away this isn't (?) the Monkees... But I've yet to hear a crap version. Bongwater's always amazed me; the Wondermints' I liked right off the bat; The Church's -- how could it not be good?; same with the Grapes of Wrath, really. And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead's starts off lame, but then it completely engulfs me -- I guess I'm gonna shell out the eight-fifty for the damn color vinyl 45 this weekend... -- 1b2s

  • carol king wrote the song and did the ORIGINAL. the monkees put out the hit and a million people have done covers. most covers are great and have their own unique thing going on, but i think the wondermints version is definently the most well rounded and tops all else . . . including the monkees.

  • @TheMonkeesRock -- I saw it on DVD. The movie did appear to be confusing but it could be interpreted as producers trying to control the boys band. I forgot the name of the football player during one of the war scene in the movie. Maybe there is a clip of it somewhere on YouTube.

  • The Monkees' Is WAY better.

  • @Wellch I have

  • @PizzaGod -- I am a fan of the early 1960s and the late 1950s. But I was not a teen in the 1960s. I missed it by a few years. I think that Blockbuster has it for rental.

  • @Wellch

You have to be a fan of the 60's and of The Monkees to enjoy the movie.

If you are, I recommend watching it. I own it.

  • I like this version better than the Wondermints version!

  • Very faithful to the Monkees' version. Nice
