Sorry, I didn't see your post until now. I did go back for 2008, and will be back for this year. We do plan on reintroducing some of the older dances that go back 50 years or more at Wailuku's obon.

Honpa Hongwanji is on Oahu and is the head temple of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawai'i (this includes Wailuku, Kahului, Makawao, and Lahaina Hongwanji Missions). For the last five years, I've been playing Wailuku Hongwanji's Obon music, but I unfortunately won't be able to make it back for this year's obon (in two weeks). I did burn them CDs though.
