Trying to optimize the camera stabilization of the Mikrokopter by adding an additional gyroscope underneath the camera. The gyroscope is made from a disk drive and powered by blctrl 1.2 attached to servo port 3 of the flight control.

  • Very nice! I want to build something like that. But tell me why there are two servos? Do they have to be there if i dont want to manually control roll and tilt? Or do the servos are connected to some kind of digital gyro?

I think i want to do same thing but without servos is this possible ?

And i see large metal rod underneath gopro why is this useful ?

  • @bantiit You don't need the servo, I used them only to be able to tilt and roll the camera a little bit. Yes the servos are connected to the gyro output of the flight control.

The metal road ensures the disk stabilized faster at the initial 0° level.

  • How does the hard drive motor need to be powered... is it just DC?

  • @TheSecretVault

you need a standard brushless ESC to power up the hard disk motor.

  • Yes I have uploaded video from the onboard Gopro camera, see this one: UIKhZXNMojg

  • great display. Well done.

  • That hard disc works a little opposite to servos .

Or how servos work exactly the same as hard?

  • unbelivable idea

  • Excellent idea and demonstration. Did you upload your video from the GoPro camera?
