Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) VS Kirk Hammett (Metallica)

metallica's riffs more creative?!

- In terms of talent, Chris Poland, Broderick, Friedman, Young, basically every LEAD guitarist>Kirk. You may like Kirk More, but they are technically better
- Kirk DID write the Ride the Lightning SOLO. Every solo on Ride is 100% Kirk. I've read an interview in Rolling Stones(Forget the link) where he talks about that
- Both bands are amazing and both guitarists have help shape a generation of thrashers

I've read through the comments and here are some false points:
- Metallica are not incompetent musicians for not playing The Mechanix at Megadeth's speed. It was written for the Four Horsemen speed. Dave sped it up, and made it sloppier. Undeniable.
- Kirk has recycled licks, but so has Dave.
- Faster does NOT equal better. The more you play and mature as a musician, the more you realize, at times less=more. Not everything needs to be a showcase of how fast you can pick or shred or anything

kirk is waay better than dave .

idk why the band is still called megadeth he should just change the name to "Dave Mustaine Band" since he's the only original member in it :)

comparing metallica and megadeth.. i like more hetfield's voice and creativity at the riffs.. but.. at the solo's i like more the solo's of megadeth..
In a totallity.. i like more metallica.. but megadeth it's still a really good band..
Endgame has left Death Magnetic reeeeeaaally small...

i personally like metallica much more than megadeth but i can admit the dave is way!!!!!!!!!! better than kirk when it comes to guitar

lol... no comparison. Metallica r better and so is kirk hammett.... by far!

he shoul be comparin chris poland to kirk :p
but anyways i think daves much better at rythm and some solos but kirks a bit better on the solo side i like both bands....
