Can anyone help me with some info on getting a logging job in OZ(pref WA coz that's where I am now, but will consider anywhere!) Experienced faller/skiddy, came here from NZ and scored a mining job,but things have dried up there and I would love to get back on a saw.

..okok, deforestation is a bad thing. I agree. But have a look on the benefits of using timber. Wood is the most ecological construction material! There is a high demand for it, worldwide. It does not make sense, to do without it.
But, I agree again, there should be made changes in things like silvicultural methods...for example. Have a look at the European Forestry, especially the German one ! There`s high efficiency but also a stress on the ecology/naturalness of forest stands

Save all remaining native forests . Trees grow back but echo systems that have taken hundreds of thousands of years to develop probably don't . Maybe they should be made into national parks ? I,m for efficient light globs and am planing on getting the next toyota prius but I think man made global warming is a load of bull and I,m not the only one .
