US marine pleads guilty to Haditha killings

A US Marine sergeant accused of leading a massacre of 24 Iraqi civilians in the Iraqi town of Haditha pleaded guilty on Monday to negligence, ending the final prosecution stemming from a 2005 incident

Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich, 31, had ordered his unit to shoot the civilians after a roadside bomb killed a member of their convoy.

He now faces a maximum of three months in prison and a rank demotion.

If anyone’s a joke it’s you, I’m flattered that my response provoked such a reaction in someone, it’s more than I ever hoped for. If anything your wish for violence to happen me vindicates my opinion that these men are criminals given the fact that their supporter wants my neck broken. @OperationJohnny Your right about how you've seen war and I haven't, i've been through a lot in my life but you've definitly been through a lot more, and you have seen things that i'm fortunate not to have seen. I still can't see myself killing kids though, not matter how bad things got, I can't imagine living with my self knowing that I killed someone with no capacity to defend themselves or even understand my rage. They killed women and kids and elderly, and theirs no way to sugercoat it.

@OperationJohnny You did'nt threaten me, I meant that more in reply to othes on youtube who were threatening to snap my neck. Their was no reason to kill these people, they were unarmed and its obvious this was a vengence killing. The little girl even described them standing over them shouting before they killed them. This is not a case of calateral damage, this was a diliberate action.

When I posted the spit on comments it was in anger when I first heard about the verdict, what angered me even more the dumb smirk he had on his face. In reality what i'd like to do is go up to him and say:

Do you really think the VA is going to pay for phyciatric bill when he develops PTSD? Do you think their going to help him get a job? For all the rah rah go military people here I'm reserving personal judement in regards to the people who are making threats towards me because I know many of you are in the military and have family in the military so its a very personal issues for you. But listen the govermant and the highers ups don't care about you and they don't care about Wuterich. They care about themselves and know if he's convicted he may turn and testify against those who gave him the execution orders.
