I've done this work for 14yrs and own my own business doing so....the things these guys do are hardly rational...like the grand with no blankets sitting on just the skid....really? Really?....lol really? The grand sitting on the dolly loaded in the truck weve done before. If its properly secured its not going to move...but still work smarter not harder....
I used to do this back in the eighties and we got $ 10.00 an hour then. If you're getting $ 10.00 an hour now I'd look for something a little better than that...minimum wage is pushing $ 9.00......
1. None of these were really that difficult. The grand around the right angle was a little tight but everything else was nothing special. Several mistakes though. Why would you pick up that spinnet with the dolly attached to it. Just put a pad down and slide the piano up the few steps. Incredibly stupid, and a really good way to screw up your back or drop the piano. Also are you really leaving a large grand piano on the dolly in the truck while you're driving, not too smart .
I'm a piano mover, what do all you other movers get paid? I'm getting 10 per hour plus some stupid "bonus". Piano moving companies don't like to tell what movers get paid, so I'm done asking them.
at 1:01 i damn near pissed myself laughing. ive been moving pianos my whole life, ive never seen that one. you better one hell of a workers comp. policy.
