@321SpikE You, my friend, obviously haven't seen what a firearm can do to a person. Unfortunately, I have. My weapons have saved me on more than one occasion.

@321SpikE My safe has a combination, but laws don't require me to keep the guns stored there. At night I keep it in a drawer, unloaded, separate from a loaded magazine.
My house isn't very big, so I can get to everywhere in a couple of seconds, and I'll have to get out of my bedroom to protect other people.
Of course, this will eventually lead to me facing intruders. That's why I don't want to have my house broken into. But if I do, I have the option between a handgun and a shotgun.

@bf2lover42 If someone (not stupid) breaks into your house probably: 1.You're not home 2.You're sleeping. In the second case good luck for waking up and opening the safe (i presume you keep your gun there) in time before those who broke in just do what they want to. I don't care about criminals, i'm just saying that guns don't mean safety to me.
