Chinese Bawu is a type of reed instrument which looks like flute, sounds like clarinet and its a cousin of harmonica and accordion (due to brass reed which is source of sound) - this is my "Free" interpretation of Scottish folk tune "Mist Covering The Mountains"

  • I ordered my bawu online from eBay. It might be risky but I consider myself lucky getting really good quality one for a reasonable price. Good luck with your bawu hunting :) P.

  • Does anyone know where can i order a bawu. I am from Greece and damn Nothing in stores...

  • I play clarinet and I don't think it sounds like one. Closer to an oboe, but closer still to the the Uilleann pipes - which is why I think it would be really cool to play Irish traditional music on. In fact that's the main reason I'm thinking of getting one. Thanks for the additional inspiration to get one. Good job on the tune, by the way!

  • Thank you so much for you inspiration! I will try to record this song soon, as a tribute to your video. After purchasing the bawu a year ago, I can finaly show you a short demonstration. The 1ste and last piece on my video response are wooden Bawu. Again thank you so much for sharing. I still love this song a lot

  • Wow,you really make that flute sound quite Celtic, great playing mate!
