Former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine spoke with the NewsHour convention team and talks about how Virginia went from being a nobody state at the DNC to becoming a prime focus after turning blue in 2008.

Gov. Tim Kaine talking to Judy Woodruff about the prime location for Virginia delegate on the convention floor: "We were used to nosebleed seats. "We were irrelevant in politics in 2004, 2008... but now that we're relevant everybody in Virginia gets to see candidate up close and personal."

Now this president is a battle tested war-time president running against a new comer to the foreign relations field."

Kaine: "We do our best work when we let the other folks be ideology people and we become the results people."
