I took this video to illustrate the effectiveness of buckwheat to control a problem with chammomile. This field was literally white with chammomile last year and I was forced to till on a continual basis in order to get it under control. The landowner had let it get away and I spent the first year keeping the field in summerfallow.

  • Summer Fallow is when you do not plant anything on the land and just till it throughout the summer. Highly UNRECOMMENDED practice. This field was a blight and had the attention of the county weed agent. I have turned it around though and would have accomplished it earlier had I just planted buckwheat as a green manure for a year or two instead.
