I'm 68 and have had the opportunity to meet two heavyweight champs in my lifetime. The first was Rocky Marciano in 1962 at Gladiator's Arena in Totowa, NJ where Rocky was managing a fighter named Ducky Dietz (he lost). I went up to Rocky at ringside to get his autograph and he put his arm around me and let me sit beside him for a while. I was 18 at the time and didn't wash my shoulder for a month. The second was Leon Spinks whom I met at South Point Hotel in Las Vegas (2012) What a gentlerman!

Apparently Ron hit so hard it didn't hurt but your body fell anyways haha. George said that.

This was a great throwback fight between two warriors , wow! The ref's used to let fighters throw until a man went down, now this fight would have been stopped. There is something to it when people say that in the past in so many different sports you had to be tougher.

in his prime when he destroyed an undefeated Joe Frazier that had beaten Ali there is no probably he would have knocked out tyson. Definitely would have. U have to be young not to remember the fear Foreman generated in beating real fighters not bums. Young foreman was the most powerful puncher in heavyweight history.

You can compare this fight with Tyson Douglas in many ways..Like Tyson, Foreman was a shadow of himself pre Zaire..so to get up and still win this fight against such a hard punching Ron Lyle showed he had a real big heart..Tyson didn't quite have the same heart when he got into trouble against Buster Douglas..which is why he lost..Foreman even at his worst showed true greatness..at his best he'd have wiped out Lyle in 2 or 3 rounds..probably Tyson too.
