In 1997, the owners left South Africa to go overseas; for the next nine years, the guest house became the home to three successive Ambassadors from Ireland to the republic of South Africa. It remained the Irish Ambassadors residence until February, of 2006 when the owners returned to Pretoria. After returning, they proceeded to update the existing residence.
