  • There are song's I've heard written by many classical composers such as Chopin ( especially romance era composers ) or even perhaps Bela Bartok where there's absolutely no repetition, and the meters are all over the place. Perhaps because he plays a "heavy metal" guitar riff it sounds like random ass noise but I bet if converted to a piano piece it would be "Brilliant". This is brilliant I just think that people can't handle the idea of "intricately composed metal".

  • Wow. This is sorta messed up. I usually don't like virtuso players because all they do is rehash classical music, but Mick Barr just took a shit on everyone.

  • Great tune, but he missed a note at 6:32. Aside from my stupid joke, I believe this is the real deal. Most people's brains are not musically developed to understand, follow , or feel whats going on. There are people who think RUSH is too complicated to understand.

  • @ShikyoMitsukai

Because it isn't just about the fucking notes mate, it's about the timbre of the instruments, the instrumentation and arrangement itself. If this would be better played on a piano, why not simply write it down and let it be played the right way? This is fucking awful.

  • @BlackEcology Nope they'd shit their pants.

  • @BigTymerPimp actually theyd probably laugh at how sloppy of a player he is (which is fine for all i care) and then ask if he can alternate pick anything mildly clean at different tempos to add to the dynamics of his composition. its awesome he planned all this out but its hardly a dynamic composition other than monotonous sloppy alternate picking at 200-whatever bpm.

  • Oceana, rather

  • @4limbs. Checking out things is great. Oz noy's guitar center srv little wing funk jazz thing that pays no mind to where it came from or where it's going isn't really a huge example of composition. Nir felder posted e was going to sit in with oz tonight... That would be the reason to go. Maybe ben monder's ocean for composition or Leo Brouwer

  • I'm not 100% on this but I can't see anyway someone could set up their guitar to trigger a drum machine to keep in time and change with the playing. If you did it by pitch and just fucked around on a guitar the machine would play random shit all over the place and not be with the guitar at all, which means even if set it up like that, he would have to be playing a composed piece because i allt fits. But because that is a ridiculous scenario, he's probably just playing along to a drum track.

  • @florafox All of Mick Barr's music is entirely composed, he's not "triggering" anything. Go listen to some of his work in Orthrelm, where he uses an actual drummer instead of a machine. His music is definitely challenging to listen to, but if you can't recognize the skill involved in both the playing and composition then you're dense.

  • @emeraldomusik Nah, he'd still shit his pants.

  • @BigTymerPimp fortunately Beethoven was deaf.
