  • hello, i had a question. Does it matter if you get a aftermarket O2 Sensor for a Nissan Maxima 2010. I've spoke to many mechanics and they said not to use aftermarket parts. Is that true? can a sensor also affect the amount of gas a car wast? and can it also affect a smog check test?

  • @The01flip good question. yes, it is very important to use OEM Oxygen Sensors. all brands of O2 sensors have their own signature waveform, with that being said you must use the O2 sensor that your powertrain computers have been programmed to monitor. you could make the problem worse or not fix anything at all with an aftermarket O2. yes it could affect your smog check and your MPG.

  • I have a gas mileage problem, I have a 2001 Trans Am six speed with 42K miles and I feel like it's giving me really bad mileage. I already cleaned the air filter, filled up the tires, and changed the sparks and wires, and it's still pretty bad. I'm thinking it might be the O2 sensors, which is why I'm watching this video.

  • @ZR1Terror did the car ever have a K&N air filter in it? if so, clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor. i hope that helps . gas mileage problems are hard to figure out. dont just throw cheap aftermarket O2 sensors in it, you could just make matters worse.

  • @willieb66 I think it did help, I took it for a ride on the expressway after cleaning the MAF sensor and it gave me 24 mpg, Thanks man!

  • @ZR1Terror glad i could help bro!

  • Perfect, right on the money about Bosch

  • one question? so you work for the oxygen sensor company??

  • Great explanation, and a helpful demonstration of how the waveform should look.

  • hi i recently replace twice the o2 sensor on my dodge ram 2500 2001 and ill stay off for about 10 minutes then the check light come on again,i was checking the fuses and the one that belongs to the o2 sensor is not working>>what do you think it can be note i purchased the o2 sensor from ebay

    thanks mike c

  • is the oxygen sensor near the header is the same installation to the pipe under the car

  • I got a question, I just upgraded the header and exhaust on my honda crx, and apparently i used to get 600km to a tank now I get less than 200km per fill, some are telling me its the O2 sensor that should be replaced because its letting the engine have too much gas, could this be possible?
