Young James and his grandmother "Nana" on Christmas, circa 1920. James has received in his Christmas stocking a Velveteen Rabbit, but it is banished to the toy cupboard in favor of James' beloved toy: China Dog. By Thomas W. Olson, based on the book by Margery Williams. Directed by Myron Johnson. Music Composed, Directed and Performed by Alan Shorter. Commissioned and first presented by The Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis, MN, 1988. Featuring June Gibbons as Nana, Vincent Kartheiser as James.
