No one comes near what Count John managed to do with his voice at this recording session. A stunning memory of what bel canto singing really was once.
"Guide me safely to her arms" will never be surpassed by anyone.

Sublime!
Bravo!
JMCTV, thank you so much for posting this song on YT :-)

On a technical note, I still find the quality of the recording of the piano astounding considering this was an acoustic recording. If you listen to ealier (1904) recordings of Caruso or anything else from that period, pianos sounded like tinny toy glockenspiels. The technical advances in what was still mechanical recording were amazing.

Does it get any better than this?, I doubt it unless , it is another magic, John McCormack song. lovely stuff.

Many thanks for your reply. The original posting for Alma Gluck wasremoved, however, CurzonRoad very kindly posted a version. The Alma Gluck version is absolutely beautiful.

Wonderful wonderful. Is this an acoustic recording?
This is indeed an acoustic recording. McCormack started to make electrical recordings in 1925. Sublime!
