how exactly is flash better?

Flash is a much more complex program. ToonBoom is only for creating 2d animations. it has good 3d space but still isn't flash.

Flash is a program used for creating flash files and documents. Flash CS5 allows you to make apps for the iPhone. Nearly all interactive web documents use flash now!

In a way you can't really compare them as they are built to do two different things. it's only because Flash has animation tools, that people compare them

I got toon boom(I like 2-d a bit more plus I'm planning to take 2d arts in highschool next year) How do i make the drawing I previously drew to be there in grey, so I can see where it was so its not like all messed up, and such

I never used that Software, but I think Adobe Flash is away much better that Toon Boom Studio...

It's more versatile and flexible .

it is better yes, but toonboom is much simpler and makes it easier to do simple animations and 3d placement.

i may do flash in the future but i do not concider myself good enough to answer peoples questions :S

i need some help! i cant seem to get the flashes operating correctly, when you click and you see the black sliding thing come up @ 8:50....so is there a way for you to help me. i follwed every single instruction that you said, it just wont work when it comes to making the flashes :( thanks

well as an animation program, (for making cartoons, that is.) i think toon boom is better then flash just because it has a really nice interface for young animators like me, it also has a huge range of file types you can export your animations as, including flash movies.
