How did you magically make the cucumber not float =o

i love them, i have a few myself; Fancytailed, superstarlight and albino. They all have L numbers
They are the best cleaners, my tank is spotless
Do you think they can cross breed?
-
@Jason99942 Wow thanks for the response I'm actually heading to an aquarium shop to pick one out soon. I think I'll go with bristlenose considering I need to stay small.
Plus I'm getting a little tired of scrubbing the driftwood, it used to stay completely clean!

@PredatorTank35 Hmm, they may be courting. Or, perhaps they're not enjoying each other's company.
If you're serious about breeding them, some people buy ~ 6 juveniles and let them pair off, then sell off the other 4 you no longer need.
Sticking a male and female in a tank sometimes works, other times they might not appreciate that per-arranged marriage and be forever bickering ;)

@FlintSparkedStudiosBristlenos
e Pleco is more effective an algae eater than the Common Pleco, because the Bristlenose will continue to eat algae throughout it's entire life. Where Common Plecos tend to lose interest in the algae as they age, nor are that as efficient. So the story goes, all I know is that I've kept Bristlenose Plecos. for years and can't recommend them enough. They stay reasonably small (3-5", depending on the exact Ancistrus species you have). -
that's the dad? he's pretty small even for a bristlenose pleco... they grow up to 9 inches right?
-
0:16 what are those hanging on to the cucumber. baby plecos?
-
Wow they're really working on the driftwood haha. I lost my pleco recently, is this species as good at cleaning as the common species?
-
Reminds me when I had my fish tank and my pleco that grew to only 6 inches.

You should be having babies soon. If not, any little change could start them breeding. Drop or raise the temp 1 degree, feed them an excessively big meal, or something like that. The babies in the video have actually already had babies themselves. =8-O And I had heard that they wouldn't breed if there were too many in one tank? Go figure....

Well, you'll see the momma getting REALLY fat. But you will know sooner if you just watch the male. He will disappear up in the place where the mom dropped the eggs, and stay there, fanning the eggs (to prevent mold) until they hatch. Even after they hatch he'll try to keep them in the cave. When he finally comes out, you'll swear he's proud of himself, letting the babies crawl through his bristles LOL! The momma has no patience for the babies tho. She couldn't care less. :0>
