The last set of exposed rails that ran from the once used Albion yard located across from Capitol Iron in Victoria BC . This spur once served Cowichan lumber yard and hasn't seen train action since the early 70's. The rails were exposed only for a short time because the city was doing some pipe work. Its interesting how the city just paved over the rails and ties and didn't tear them up.
Surely just tarmacking over the track guarantees a weak road structure afterwards. Also it just seems like laziness! Steel is recyclable and has scrap value, even now.

I remember seeing those when I was a kid. I guess they covered them within the last 15-20 years or so?
