He did paint a small number of portraits, which were commissioned during his travels in Turkey in 1890. The most famous works by Rudolph Ernst are listed as above..in 1885 hetraveled through the Middle East, visiting Morocco, Spain and Turkey ..in 1890 visited Constantinople (Istanbul), Turkey and Egypt ..& 1932 died in Fontenau aux Roses......
