These magnificent animals live in the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda in Central Africa. Their population was down to just 300 gorillas only a few years ago. Thanks to conservation and education efforts in Rwanda and Uganda, poaching has declined and they now enjoy a safer environment. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for their relatives who reside in Congo, where violence is endemic and many gorillas have been killed. Make a donation today to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund by adopting a gorilla. There are many options for donations on their site: http://www.gorillafund.org/support/adopt.php

  • Thanks for the compliments on the footage. This is Group 13. We were really lucky to see them when so many babies had just been born. The song is Djoralen by Oumou Sangare, from the CD titled Oumou. She's a famous singer from Bamko, Mali.
