Video project exploring the specific incident of violence in which Andrea Yates drowned her five children on June 20, 2001. The original footage is based on research pertaining to the events of that day and later questioning sequence is based on sessions between Andrea Yates and legal investigators as well as sessions with her psychiatrist in jail.

@gotch09 He was also told by 2 different psychiatrists not to leave her alone with the kids and that having more children would be to much for her and they warned against it but both of them ignored that too. Andrea may have done this but her husband allowed her the opportunity to do so and ignored the doctors and left her alone with those poor kids. He is just as guilty.

...And so this is what happens when religion is taught to the mentally ill. Possibly religion makes some people, with a predisposition for fanatism, mentally ill. It's like burning witches, only they do it to their own kids...

I'm not saying religion per se is a totally bad thing, but I have read the bible just to find out what all the fuss is about, and I must say at times it reads like a horror novel.

Religion is always a culprit. Everyone judges Andrea and Rusty, but then you all go on and love your Gods who all killed their children (supposedly). Imagine if this woman had never heard about a god or devil. Likely her kids would be alive and she'd have gotten the help she needed from a better government that doesn't cater to the religious rich people thereby allowing her to stay in that psych ward. Instead, she had to be released because of America's capitalist pig society. Gods, and America.

@yogourtbrain I agree. We've seen time & time again, the repercussions of mixing mental illness & religion is staggering. What's interesting about the Yates case is that Andrea didn't want to kill her kids, but she truly felt that she HAD to. She didn't do it because of some deep seeded feelings of not wanting to be a mother anymore or that her kids were getting in the way of things, she believed that she had to kill them to save their souls. She felt that that was the best she could do for them

@Valyn66, I just looked at your channel, are you actually a doctor? If you are I'd really love to know how someone with the IQ of a brick was able to get into medical school much less finish!!! You might be able to dance intellectual circles around me where medicine is concerned, but I guarantee you that you don't have a fucking clue about religion, God or the bible! So why don't you just stick to what you know and stop being such an arrogant asshole!!!
