During the Mississippi Debate, the pair answered questions about priorities. Obama said renewable fuels would be a priority, along with making renewable fuel vehciles- American made renewable fuel vehicles.

McCain said he would cut ethanol subsidies, and then went off on a defense tangent.

  • @Neoli2300 If hydrogen cars are made cheep enough for me to buy one and the stations are everywhere to fill them up for a reasonable price i will buy one to. but until then i am going to use Ethanol. their is plenty of ethanol around hear to get by. hydrogen is clean and could be vary abundant. I wouldn't mind a hydrogen future. but i don't see that anytime soon.

  • @dopanan yes i know. what i was saying is just that you use more energy to grow the corn and sugar Cain and then harvesting and transforming into ethanol than you do from burning it. The way they make it is doing more harm than good. and bush's proposal for 15% ethanol is impractical because it would require all of the arid land in the US to do so.

  • @switchgrassfuel i like the idea of hydrogen. twice as much energy as kerosene and is the lightest element. people say that it is impractical to make because it requires to much energy when Dr. Craig Venter, the scientist who created synthetic life found 3 million genes in the ocean which metabolize hydrogen. The second a reliable vehicle which is able to compete with mainstream cars becomes available I'm buying a hydrogen car, supplying demand.

  • @Neoli2300 BS. If you don't like ethanol don't buy it. the energy balance of ethanol is 1.67 and that is good enough for me. gasoline production is 0.79 all stats available from the Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Energy. considering the fact that the U.S. produced 12.3 billion gallons this year. ethanol is not going away anytime soon. I don't care if you don't like ethanol it is not for everyone. oil is very energy dense and hard to replace. but no whining about gas prices.

  • @switchgrassfue ethanol has a negative net energy. It takes more energy to make it than you get out of it.

  • I am with McCain about subsidies. I love Ethanol I use it every time i fill up. but i still am not a fan of subsidies. I will still buy Ethanol even if it is not subsidies. but they should quit subsidizing gas also. the government pays allot of money to sit on that oil and make sure some other country doesn't take it. but allot of tax payers don't see that as a huge subsidy. I did vote for Oboma. and it was based on his energy plan. I wanted to vote for McCain, it was a tough decision.

  • that wasnt about energy

    but obama clearly won
