    Actually they don't. The closest states that put tracking devices on them are North and South Dakota believe it or not! They have been known to travel hundreds of miles according to the DNR.

    Every comment apart from the last one posted is pure ignorance. Yes, cougars are actual "wild" animals and yes some have collars which are used to track them. Also, yes cougars were once native to Michigan. So why couldn't they come back to Michigan?

    It is in the cat family, they are also known as mountain lions. So that might be why it looks like a female lion. little over 5 years ago a guy hit one with his car between woodruff, wi and eagle river, wi the dnr came and put it down.

    you can search it on the web and you will find something. you might even find more sightings and cases from all over the midwest where the dnr had to come and put the animal down.

    This is not a cougar, this video is a sham. You can clearly see by the size and shape of the head, that it is a female lion, and that it has a tag around it's neck. Do some investigative journalism, before helping propogate a lie.
