The Homo Politico: LGBT Youth and Bullying

My feelings on the danger of school bullying towards gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth and the fact that we seemed to have learned little from the tragic killing of Lawrence King.

We must demand strong, fully-inclusive anti-bullying laws, Gay-Straight Alliances, and a safe environment for ALL children, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity and expression.

I went through the same things back in the 80's!

I hated school and wanted to quit so many times but my dad made me stay, I am glad I survived it all, as it was pure terror!

I'm bisexual..I just came out 2 years ago..im 14 years old and I am still in middle school and I have faced some bullying in my life because im bi. I havent told my parents yet because they are homophobic, but I am going to find a LGBT community...You are so inspiring in the video. Thank you.

I'm not usually bullied (I'm a lesbian), but one of my good guy friends who's gay was made fun of and called a "faggot" for wearing some eyeliner, which he likes to do. I got really pissed.

Why don't we have anybody like this in the UK? The kids and even a teacher are horrible to me. They don't know that I'm bisexual, but there are rumors going round that I'm lesbian. I have no idea why though. I barely speak to anybody but my friend at school, they don't even know me. I would do more to defend myself but then I'll probably just say something stupid and the bullying will get worse =[.

lol m8 sorry to hear about your tough experiences, I was at gay pride today in Dublin and was surpised at the amount of gay teens who were there. THings are getting better slowly, so every1 hang in there.
