Fine, spanish jewels of vocal and pianistic art. Contain distilled popular wisdom. Re-found, collected and arranged in 1914 by Manuel de Falla, 1876-1946.
Victoria de los Angeles and Gerald Moore at their best and the best recording of this work ever, 1951. It is a fondamentalist remark, I recognise, but I think I am right ! lol
4. Jota. About a secret love. 00:00-02:50
5. Nana. Lullaby. 02:53-04:28
6. Canción. Her eyes cast trouble. 04:32-05:40
7.Polo. A curse on love. 05:43-07:24
In Mexico, I got acquainted with the sensuous geometry of Sebastián´s sculptures. Some of them illustrate this video. His Caballo is one of the landmarks of Mexico city. Enrique Carbajal (b.1947 in Ciudad Camargo) is his real name. Renaissance-Duchamp-Brancusi-Moore his references. Maybe the most famous mexican sculptor worldwide.
4.Victoria, 1994.
5.Paloma negra, 1991.
6.Tercer milenio, 1994.
7.´Arbol de vida, 1996.
EMI record. What is this story about violating ´Rebeat` rights?
Enjoy.
Just a note: Spanish last names beginning with "de los", etc., are alphabetized that way, such as Victoria de los Ángeles, who is referred to as Ms. (Sra.) de los Ángeles.
However, names with just "de", such as Manuel de Falla, Miguel de Cervantes, Francisco de Goya, or NOT alphabetized with the "de", and are NOT referred to as "de Falla", but simply "Falla", "Cervantes", "Goya", etc. The same is true in German: Karajan, not von Karajan; Weber, not von Weber.

Beautiful, sensitve singing by de los Angeles, but Gerald Moore's constipated musicianship is especially prevalent in the last song. Too bad, because de los Angeles' voice was in pristine condition during this period of her career. Luckily, these pieces don't exploit the upper register, and we have a few wonderful recordings from later in her career with more appropriate pianists. Thanks for the upload!
