One of the keys to being a Vibrant Vegan practicing Exuberant Movement, joyful, playful exercise. Today Kirsten demonstrates a simple Exuberant Movement session which consists of 5 body toning exercises done as a flow. This flow will get your heart rate up and make you stronger The movements are all body weight exercises so you won't need any equipment--Just your magnificent body.

The Workout
Do all five exercises with the best form you can, freely modifying any movement to suit your fitness level-make this movement session as intense or as easy as you need it to be.

Do each exercise 6 times before flowing to the next. Try to flow through the sequence 3 times.

The Exercises:

Squats- Feet shoulder width apart, push your hips back like you are sitting in a chair. Go as low as you feel comfortable going with your heels on the ground.

Burpees- Move from standing position to push-up position, back to standing and then a jump.

Wide-stance Mountain Climbers- Start in a push-up position. Step your right foot forward to the outside of your right hand and then back to push-up position. Repeat for left side.

Roll ups- Start in a standing position, do a deep squat, roll to your back and then back up to a standing position.

Breakdancer- Start in a crouch position(hands and feet on the floor) Lift your left hand and step your right foot out to the left side of your body. Return to center and then repeat on left side.

Remember to modify to an intensity appropriate for you and above all, have fun!

Practice Exuberant Movement Daily.

  • You & Annmarie Gianni are both breakdancing this week! She had a bit of a different form, but same idea. It's a great idea, I usually do plank twists but tried the breakdancing yesterday and it was not only good exercise but fun too!

I agree on the female strength aspect - I had never done strength training before, but started this year and for the first time have some muscle definition in my biceps, triceps, abs & inner thighs! You do a great job here of incorporating cardio with strength.

  • I will make sure I stretch well before attempting this.

    Love the kid.
