I've got an european (PAL) version of nes and modded (to work in europe) mattel version (NTSC) of nes.
The thing that I've notticed is that the european version of smb works just correctly like on your video on the PAL console and only the sound is higher pitch on the NTSC console with no change in speed.
Also the colors and contrast are better on NTSC version allthough it has european modulator part(because of modification to europe).
I think this happens on all games but atleast on smb&smb3.

@TerporFIN Yeah, There's a few games which have been sped up to be playable on PAL systems.
Look at the US version of Shadow of the Beast on the Genesis too, they forgot to slow it down when porting!

@LarryBundyJr I actually imported NES from US and i tried the european Probotector on it and it runs too fast lol

@therealhardrock AH! i found why mine differs from yours i guess. I also got the action set tho mine came with the orange gun!

@therealhardrock Also, yours doesnt have the Nintendo seal of quality where mine does...lol interesting facts..
The game comes in 3 different versions in USA NTSC. 2 different versions of the Mario/Duckhunt since for one My mario/duckhunt looks slightly different than yours and my father bought it here in the USA. Then theres the regular just mario cart. So as far as i know theres 3 different ones. 2 with different looks (dont know about diff game play) and 1 just mario only I can supply a picture/video of my cartridge if interested in seeing the diffence..

@Emmurethegreat That's not what this video is about. It's about the fact that the two PAL versions of this game have music that plays slower than normal and faster than normal.

@therealhardrock Indeed it is. I was just saying theres a different version of the Mario/Duckhunt than the one you have. I just recently found this out myself as i thought my copy was the main one that was everywhere but so far i have only seen ones that look like yours with the nintendo symbol between the 2 images where mine isnt. Just thought it was an interesting fact.

@Emmurethegreat You might have one released after a certain date. I got the action set back in 1988 which included the original gray zapper. But anyway, the reason why the music sounds different in the PAL version is because the PAL versions of NES games by default run 10% slower than their NTSC counterparts due to the fact that PAL TVs refresh at 50hz as opposed to NTSC TVs that refresh at 60hz. the later "NES" version of the game that was released in Europe optimized the game for PAL TVs so

@Emmurethegreat that it would run better, but in doing so, they actually made the music play faster than normal. There's a lot of controversy in Europe with the fact that the European Wii virtual console uses the original, unoptimized PAL NES games, hence LarryBundyJr's comments.
