What happens when your receiver craps out on you when you are 300 feet up and at full throttle. Plowed straight down through a tree and into the ground at close to 90 MPH. Took about 6 months to build this amazing plane and this was only like the 9th flight.
It wasn't necessarily the receiver, it was your transmitter. The 6XI has been known for doing exactly what happened to your plane. We lost our club trainer in June when the receiver lost bind and the plane plowed straight into the ground at full speed. Then again you have a 6200 which had a recall too for doing a "hold" condition. I would send both back to Horizon Hobby for upgrades.

Yeah, it really did suck when it went into the ground. I haven't had any problems since then with my radio, I think there was a hair-line crack in the RX board and the vibration from the engine caused a brown-out. I use lots of foam now on my planes to help with vibration issues and it seems to be working :)
