I bought this Common anode LED matrix display at sayal electronics after work the other day for 5 bucks and I programmed an animation on my PIC16F628 microcontroller. I couldnt find any examples of the code for this on the internet so I litterally wrote the whole thing from scratch which took forever. Basicly I used a shift register to shift in one row at a time so no more than one row of LEDs is lit at any given instance. It does this at 4Khz so it looks like a single image because of our persistance of vision.
