I remember Rickie when he was 3 users old and lived accross the street. I can't believe that I was luck and privileged enough to have grown up so close to such a wonderful and talented family.

Rick is playing an Auto-Valve harmonica in Standard tuning - (from George WInston, who was co-producing the session with Rick Epping and Bruce Olsen).

I must make another comment about this video. Obviously Rick is playing an XB-40 in this video. My point is this, close your eyes and just listen to his music. His opening chords definitely sound like a harmonica, but as he gets into his song, and reaches the high octave, he makes the harp sound like bagpipes.

Rick Epping is not only an Irish troubadour, but he designed Hohner's model 1101 harmonica, commonly known as the XB-40 Extreme Bending harmonica, which bears his name.

That is incredible! One of my favorite folk dances, fantastically played on harmonica!

I play crossharp, but have a 20 hole harmonica from my late grandfather. Do you play celtic and Irish tunes in first position or can I play it in cross harp? Not sure if this is the right place to ask that question.

2. Also yes for 2nd position----BUT usually with holes 5 & 9 draw tuned up one half to get the Major scale in 2nd position
